The National Leadership Council (NLC) is for individuals who believe in the mission of Practice Makes Perfect and are ready to dedicate their time, resources and innovative ideas to help PMP achieve its goals. Members serve one-year terms and can re-apply annually. Every year members will be assessed on their impact and contribution to the program. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Individuals accepted to the board will be notified by the end of the month in which they applied.

Dana is a junior at Emory University. At school she is majoring in English, minoring in Sociology, and concentrating in business at the Goizueta Business School. Dana was raised in New York City and attended Horace Mann High School in Riverdale. Throughout high school, Dana was involved with Dorot, a leading non-profit for Jewish seniors in the Manhattan area. She served on the teen board for three years and as President her final year. She helped plan various fundraisers and community outreach activities, ultimately connecting students and the elderly.
At Emory, Dana’s main involvements are social chair of Tridelta Sorority, and tutoring with IMAGE, an afterschool program that works with kids from low-income families in Atlanta and focuses on strengthening the students’ reading and math skills. Dana became a member of the Council after positive experiences with Practice Makes Perfect during her involvement as a volunteer.

Dipabali is a sophomore at Cornell University studying in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She was raised in Queens, NY and attended Townsend Harris High School. At Townsend, she was on the board of her school’s chapter of the National Honor Society and managed the business staff of the school’s newspaper. She was selected as a Questbridge Finalist from over 6000 applicants across the country, a program that acknowledges students who have achieved academic excellence. Currently, she is a New York Needs You Fellow.
At Cornell, Dipabali is Vice President of Red Ideas, a club that empowers and encourages the future generation to lead with creativity and innovation in order to improve the human condition. Last summer, Dipabali helped launch Practice Makes Perfect’s inaugural program.

Esmir is a junior at the City University of New York (CUNY) Baruch College studying marketing with minors in entrepreneurship and sociology. He was born and raised in Queens, New York. Before transferring to Baruch College he received his associates degree in marketing management and sales from the New York City College of Technology. While studying at the New York City College of Technology, Esmir was a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, and received several awards in recognition of his high academic achievements.
Upon graduation, Esmir plans on pursuing his MBA. Last summer, Esmir helped launch Practice Makes Perfect inaugural program where he tutored and mentored children from his community.

Eric Gorenstein is from Nyack, NY and a junior in the School of Hotel Administration. He attended high school at Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY where he was co-chair of the Judiciary Board and his class valedictorian.
At Cornell he is a teaching assistant for Managerial Accounting and involved with the Ye Hosts Honorary Society. Additionally, Eric is a member of the Alpine Ski Team—this year they won a regional title and qualified for nationals which was held at Sunday River in Maine.
During high school summers Eric worked as a swim coach, but more recently has held positions in hotel operations and human resources. This summer he will be adding to that mix of experiences by interning with a real estate company in New York City.

Edwin is a junior at Polytechnic University of NYU studying Civil engineering. He was born and raised in Queens, New York and attended Long Island City High School. While in high school, Edwin served as Treasurer for Long Island City High School’s Symphonic Band. Edwin was also an active member of ASPIRA and the National Honor Society.
At NYU-Poly, Edwin served as External and Internal Vice President for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and focused on promoting mathematics and science through innovation and STEM awareness.
Last summer, Edwin helped launch Practice Makes Perfect’s inaugural program. He also had the opportunity to teach karate lessons, which allowed him to use his 2nd degree black belt in the Horangi Taekwondo Dojang to pay it forward.

Gabriel is a senior at Cornell University who is studying at The School of Hotel Administration. Before Cornell, Gabriel attended The Culinary Institute of America where he graduated first in his class and received all of the awards given at graduation. Last summer Gabriel worked for a start-up company called 4ward Group LLC. with Brennan Spreitzer. He traveled around the country giving presentations to c-level executives in the automotive and credit industry.
Gabriel’s passion for entrepreneurship has lead him to develop a business plan with Brennan that is geared towards hospitality. They are currently in the semi-finals of the Cornell University competition. On campus, he is part of Hotelie Entrepreneurs and volunteers as much as he can.
Gabriel plans to continue his love for entrepreneurship after graduation by starting his own business.

Eric is from Brooklyn, New York and has received his associates degree from the City University of New York (CUNY) Manahattan before transferring to the School of Hotel Administration, where he is currently a senior. At CUNY Manhattan, Eric was the founder of the Transfer Club, which guided students through the transfer process and helped bridge the gap between two and four year colleges.
At Cornell, Eric serves as the President of Hotelie Entrepreneurs and is an intern at Hillel, a Jewish non-profit that focuses on creating a sense of community on college campuses. Eric has spent his last four summers working for the Jersey Express, on the business side of soccer. Eric plans on pursuing a career in Sports Management upon graduation.

Tyler is originally from Jacksonville, Florida and is currently a sophomore at the School of Hotel Administration. In high school, Tyler was the President and Student Head of the VyStar Academy of Business and Finance at Bartram Trail High School. Tyler served as the head of university outreach for Wall St. Training, the largest financial modeling and valuation training firm in the world. In that position, Tyler headed up a partnership with Distributive Education Clubs of America, founded a mergers and acquisitions case competition, and co-authored an article in Princeton’s Business Today.
He has experience in hospitality consulting and has held a research position in the Computer Science department at Cornell. Tyler’s studies focus on fixed income analysis and commercial real estate transactions, and he’ll be with Goldman Sachs Special Situations Group this summer working with middle-market credit and structured equity investments.

Brandon is a junior at Cornell University studying Urban and Regional Planning in the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning. He was born and raised in Merrillville, Indiana and attended Merrillville Senior High School. While in high school, Brandon served as President of the National Honors Society, volunteered as a peer mediator, and played on the varsity soccer team.
In the fall of 2005, Brandon founded Kids 4 Kidz, Inc., which raises money to purchase toys and gifts for kids in pediatric units at three hospitals during the Christmas and Easter holidays. At Cornell, Brandon serves on the Student Advisory Council for Cornell Tradition Fellows, is President of MOAAP, co-chairs Ithakids, and is currently the Service Chair for BSU. Brandon is also a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Chapter. After graduation, Brandon would like to explore a career in urban design and community development.

Zachary West is a junior in the Dyson School of Applied Economics & Management with a concentration in Finance and Strategy from Great Neck, NY. Zachary has experience as a wealth management intern at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. In addition, he has done marketing consulting for Cumulus IQ and Ben Franklin Technology Partners.
On campus, Zachary is involved with the Cornell Hospitality Consultants and Cornell University Sustainable Design. He is also a teaching assistant for Financial Accounting. In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and skiing.
Zach’s academic focus is on finance and corporate strategy, and he’ll be with Google this summer as a RAMP intern. Upon graduation, Zachary is interested in pursuing a full-time position within the technology industry.
